Go beyond the big cities and allow yourself time to find little treasures, you may just come to something like this. I turned off the main road and took this as low to the water as possible, without getting my feet wet. Some years ago I was gifted an Orchid Cactus. The flower comes out at night, around 10.00pm and by 6.00am it has already died. This stunning flower has amazed me every time I get to see it. If I stand at the edge of our small property and look out at the summer sunset I get to see the most amazing scenes. This is just one. So many lonely trees along the way. The bush fires had been burning close to home and pushing some of the wildlife into the suburbs. This Black Cockatoo was feeding on some seeds in a tree close to someone's home. The glow in the background and the siloette of the parrot made for this facinated image. It captured what it felt like during that time. I heard someone say recently that if you look for a certain type of object or subject, you will find it. So I went looking for windmills, and found this one near a farm. From Adaldaide Hills looking down at the setting sun, the sky stretches out above yopur head, as if it never ends.
